Volleyball Sweeps Hofstra to Close Out Syracuse Tournament

The Army Black Knights Volleyball Team wrapped up play at the Syracuse Tournament with a 3-0 victory over the Hofstra Pride. Army used a strong finish to take the first set which was the most competitive featuring 10 ties and four lead changes. After Hofstra tied the set at 21-21, CDT Julia Johnson ’25 answered with a kill and Army scored on the next play on an attacking error for a 23-21 lead and closed the set with a block by CDT Allanah Cutler ’24. Army West Point Men’s Rugby kicked-off their 15s season with a 25-17 victory over the Kutztown Golden Bears. The Black Knights opened the scoring two minutes into the contest. Army West Point Women’s Rugby took down Princeton by a score of 87-0 to improve to 2-0 on the season. The match marked the first varsity contest between the two after the Tigers joined the NIRA circuit ahead of the 2022 15s season.
