Cadet Captains Receive Centurion Pins

BG Mark Quander ’95, 79th Commandant of Cadets, presented Centurion Pins to 17 captains of Cadet Competitive Club Sports. In the ancient Roman Army, Soldiers were awarded the rank of “Centurion” based on their strength, size and skills, as well as years of dedicated military service. They would typically command legions of 100 men or more. Now, the Centurion Pin recognizes the accomplishments and dedication of competitive club team captains and the student athletic club coordinator and to amplify Gen. Douglas MacArthur’s quote “On the fields of friendly strife are sown the seeds that on other days and other fields will bear the fruit of victory.” Read more.

Men’s & Women’s Soccer Earn 1-1 Draws

Army West Point Men’s Soccer drew 1-1 on the road against Seton Hall. CDT Josh Taylor ’23 made nine saves in goal for the Black Knights to limit the Pirates attack. Army West Point Women’s Soccer finished its non-conference schedule with a 1-1 draw at Iona. CDT Kaitlin Palaian ’24 provided the goal halfway through the first half.

Army Football Set for Matchup vs. FCS Villanova

Despite the rough start Army West Point Football’s offense saw several reasons to be optimistic focused around quarterback duo of CDT Tyhier Tyler ’23 and CDT Cade Ballard ’23 who combined for 13-18 passing for 307 yards and two TDs. It was Army’s first 300-yard passing game since 11/17/2007 vs. Tulsa. RB CDT Jakobi Buchanan ’24 also rumbled for two TDs and now has three TDs on the young season. R
