Cadets from EV310, Aquatic Science, participated in the 20th Annual "A Day in the Life of the Hudson River" event, an annual Citizen Science program that celebrates the Hudson River Estuary and educates participants on its uniqueness. This year, over 200 local students and parents became West Point 'scientists for the day' through the all-day outreach event, with our Cadets teaching the young scientists about the surrounding environment and inspiring them to make an impact. The program is sponsored by the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYSDEC) and Columbia University's Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory, and is a means for students to better understand the health of the Hudson River from the Hudson Harbor in New York City north to the Troy Dam in Troy, New York.
