Records Fall in Army Football's Fourth Consecutive Bowl Win
The Army West Point football team put on a show here Saturday afternoon when it ran past Houston 70-14 in the 2018 Lockheed Martin Armed Forces Bowl.
The Black Knights earned their second-straight Lockheed Martin Armed Forces Bowl win, their fourth consecutive bowl win, and sixth overall as a program. They became the first school to win three Armed Forces Bowls.
Kelvin Hopkins Jr. was named the bowl MVP after putting up impressive numbers. The junior scampered for 170 yards, while compiling 70 through the air on a perfect 3-of-3 day.
With those numbers, Hopkins Jr. became the first cadet-athlete to run and pass for over 1,000 yards in a season.
James Nachtigal led the Cadets defensive corps registering 3.5 sacks and a career high 16 tackles. Army recorded 10 sacks as a defensive unit, which broke a program record.
