Strong First Quarter Secures Win for Women's Basketball

CDT Jess Lewis '19Thanks to an impressive first quarter, the Army West Point women's basketball team earned a 65-50 victory over Lafayette in Patriot League action on Wednesday. Army hosted around 1,500 local young students as part of Education Day at West Point and didn't disappoint with its second league win of the year. Madison Hovren finished with another double-double with a game high 23 points and 16 rebounds, while classmate Jess Lewis tied a career best with 22 points on 8-of-12 shooting from the floor. Lewis also dished out seven assists in the win, which was one off her career high. As a team, the Black Knight shot 41 percent from the field and had an advantage of 12-3 in points off of turnovers.
