Cole Casanova and Mathew Davis of the West Point gymnastics team were both honored by the Eastern College Athletic Conference. Casanova earned ECAC Gymnast of the Week honors, while Davis was tabbed the Rookie of the Week after their performances at the West Point Open. Casanova, a senior team captain, posted three career-high scores over the weekend. He was second in the all-around with an 80.050. The Dallas, Texas, native garnered career-highs on pommel horse (13.500) and still rings (13.800). Casanova was second in the meet on vault with a score of 14.000. Davis had a standout performance in his collegiate debut placing sixth in the all-around (76.200) which ranked him as the top plebe competitor at the event. The Frisco, Texas, native finished second on the floor exercise (14.300) and third on high bar (12.650). The Black Knights host Penn State next Saturday at the Lou Gross Center. The meet will begin at 2 p.m.
