For the third straight year, firstie Tom Ottman of the Army West Point Men's Swimming and Diving Team received Academic All-Patriot League honors on Tuesday.
To be considered for Academic All-Patriot League, a sophomore-standing student-athlete must maintain a minimum of a 3.20 cumulative grade point average and must have competed in the Patriot League Championships, unless missed due to injury. The Sports Information Directors then cast their votes from a pool of candidates.
Ottman, a Physics major, compiled a 3.409 grade-point average. The Scottsdale, Ariz., native was named First Team All-Patriot League after his performance at the league championships in Lewisburg, Pa., from Feb. 20-23. He placed inside the top five in the 1650 free as well as the 500 free. He also added an eighth-place showing in the 200 free. Read more.
