Women's Tennis Travel to Washington for NCAAs
The Army West Point Women's Tennis Team learned it is headed to Seattle, Washington to face the host 10th-ranked Washington Huskies in the first round of the NCAA Tournament, the association announced during its annual selection show on Monday evening. "Well this is my last season, and this team has meant a lot to me," said firstie captain Kirby Einck. "It's given me opportunities I never thought were possible, and to be able to wear the name Army on my chest one more time is something I'll never forget. I couldn't think of representing a better institution."
The Black Knights will be making their 15th appearance in the national tournament and second in a row. The Cadets secured the automatic qualifying bid as the Patriot League champion after defeating top-seeded Boston University, 4-3, on Sunday with yearling Hannah Boubel securing the victory by taking a three-set thriller in the No. 5 singles position. This will be the program's second trip to the Emerald City after facing the Huskies back in 2001. Read more.
