During its lone home outdoor meet of the year, the Army West Point Track and Field Team honored its firstie class while competing against athletes from over 40 universities. While much of the short-distance team was inactive ahead of this weekend's IC4A/ECAC Championships, a majority of the team saw some action in the event at West Point's Shea Stadium on Thursday. Among them were firsties Abby Halbrook, Cassie Mundekis, Ben Boswell, Kenneth Brinson, Mikey Singer and Jeff Giannettino, who were competing at West Point for the final time. The team's remaining seniors (Andre Vaughn, Kevin Dyer, Ben Sims and Marcus Denham) did not see any action at the meet. Prior to the start of the evening's running events, Coach Mike Smith introduced each of the firsties and each was presented the AD's Coin by interim athletic director Dan McCarthy at midfield. The group is among the most accomplished classes in program history with three league championships (two men's cross country and one men's indoor track& field) and twelve active program records among them.
