The Army West Point golf team continued it play at the NCAA Regionals at UT Golf Club on Tuesday. The Black Knights finished with a team score of 305 (+21) in the second round and is tied for 13th with Prairie View A&M with an overall score of 614 (+46). Texas is in the lead at 10-under for the regional after firing a -16 as a team on Tuesday. Justin Williamson remained Army's top player on the leaderboard and is at 6-over for the tournament with a 4-over 75 in round two. He was 1-under through the first nine but had a tough few holes to close out his round at +4. There are five players at the top of the leaderboard at 4-under and three are from Texas and two from Pepperdine.
Williamson is in a tie for 37th on the leaderboard. He flipped the script from day one on the first nine as he went 1-under with a birdie on hole six. Williamson's back nine was a bit tough, going 5-over to finish at 4-over on the day. Williamson sunk a long putt down a ridge on 18 to birdie the final hole of the day. Rookie Tom Katsenes improved in his second round and fired a 3-over 74, which was three strokes better than Monday's round. He birdie two of the first four holes to get out to an early low score. He had 12 pars on the day with seven coming on the back nine. Team captain Nick Turner finished 5-over with a score of 76 and is 12-over for the tournament.
