Simoes Named Patriot League Player of the Week
Following a big offensive output this weekend at Texas A&M, cow Tim Simoes has been named Patriot League Player of the Week.
The second baseman was the catalyst of Army's 12-run, 17-hit performance on Sunday, going 4-6 with two runs and five RBIs against the No. 13 ranked Aggies. Simoes finished the weekend with a .556 average while slugging .778 with a .600 on-base percentage.
It is the first league honor for Simoes and the second weekly honor for Army this year after pitcher Logan Smith won Patriot League Pitcher of the Week after Army's opening series at Duke.
The Black Knights will head back on the road this weekend with a four-game slate against Campbell and service academy rival Air Force in Fayetteville, N.C. Army and Air Force will meet in the first game on Friday at 2 p.m.
