Army West Point Crew competed against the Royal Military College of Canada (RMC) winning the overall time and 14 of 17 head to head matchups. The race was scored by adding the total time of all racers from each team with the lowest time winning.
Army rowed a total time of 48:49:3 to RMC's 54:06:7. The novice team performed especially well. This was their first two-kilometer race, and no one rowed the fiery death of "fly 'n die," where they start out strong but then can't keep up.
The varsity team also beat expectations. CDTs Nick Perovich and Cade Fleaher pulled their personal best 2K times, while many other rowers were within seconds of their best times. An exceptional performance by all, and a indication of success in the future.
