The Army West Point Women’s Basketball team had five players score in double figures, as the Black Knights picked up their third consecutive win yesterday afternoon, topping Colgate, 79-45, at Cotterell Court. Taylor Sullivan led the way with a career high-16 points, shooting 7-11 from the floor. Kate Murray, Alisa Fallon and Lauren Lithgow each had 12 points. Sabria Hunter finished with 10.
This marked the first time since the Bryant contest last season on December 29, 2019 that Army had five players score in double digits. “We’ve seen flashes of who we can be throughout the season and this weekend we just put it together. We had everybody on the same page clicking and it feels good,” Sullivan said.
“I think the beauty of how we play as a team was evident the last couple of days with everyone being able to contribute,” Murray added. Murray and Fallon also both posted double-doubles. Murray corralled a game-high 12 rebounds and Fallon grabbed 10. Army jumped to an early 24-13 lead through the first 10 minutes of play. The Black Knights did much of their damage from the beyond-the-arc in the first quarter with four of their six made field goals coming from 3-point range. Army added eight points from the charity stripe, led by Lithgow, who shot 5-5 from the line. Read more.
