Lauren Lithgow of the Army West Point Women’s Basketball team was named the Patriot League Rookie of the Week, the league announced in a release yesterday afternoon.
The Manasquan, N.J., native averaged 15.5 points in last weekend’s series with Colgate, which resulted in Army’s first weekend sweep of the season. Lithgow poured in a game-high 19 points in Saturday’s contest, shooting 5-7 from 3-point range. She followed it up with 12 points on Sunday, shooting a perfect 5-5 from the charity stripe.
This marks the second time this season that Lithgow has earned the award, as she also claimed it on January 6.
Army will have a home-and-home series with Holy Cross this weekend with the first contest in Worcester, Mass., on Saturday, February 6 and the second in Christl Arena on Sunday, February 7. Sunday’s game will be senior day and will be also pair as the final regular season home contest of Dave Magarity's career.
