The Army West Point Women’s Lacrosse team used an early 10-0 run to top Bucknell, 19-8, on senior day at Michie Stadium. The Black Knights are now up to five straight wins.
“It's been awesome over our four years to see how far this team has come and what our class has been able to do for this program,” Army firstie Cameron Manor said. “Everyone was playing for each other today. In the locker room before the game we were so excited to get out and play for all the seniors.”
Manor had a career-high seven points with four goals and three assists. Both Jackie Brattan and Jolie Riedell also posted four-goal performances.
Bucknell was the first team on the board with Kali Peeples finding the back of the net less than a minute into the contest. After that it was all Army from there. The Cadets scored 10 unanswered goals in a 20-minute span to push ahead by nine. Three of Jackie Brattan's four goals came during the spurt. In total, Army had seven different goal scorers during the run, including firstie Beth Hofmann, who notched her first goal of the season.
The Black Knights eventually went on to take a 13-3 lead into halftime. In the first half, Army outshot Bucknell 27-5. Read more.
