Volleyball Splits Second Day of the Black Knight InvitationalArmy West Point Volleyball split the second day of the Black Knights Invitational falling 3-0 to High Point then returned to sweep Columbia 3-0 in the last match of the invite.

The Black Knights opened the match with three kills from Paige Fixemer to lead 4-1 over the Panthers. High Point battled back capitalizing on Army's mistakes to take a 13-10 lead. Savannah Bray and Fixemer battles to keep the Cadets in the match, recording three kills and one block each. It was not enough, as errors increased High Point's lead allowing the Panthers to take the first set 25-19.

Army opened set two with a 9-4 lead over the Panthers, led by two kills from Bray. Errors started to get the best of High Point helping keep the momentum in Army's favor. Cate Buckingham fired off a kill to increase Army's lead to 16-10 forcing the Panthers to take their second timeout. High Point fought back, capitalizing on attacking errors made by the Cadets, to bring the set to 22 all. The teams traded points, but High Point jumped ahead to take the 26-24 victory. Bray finished with six kills and four digs.

High Point jumped out in front early, leading 6-2 at Army's first timeout. Attacking errors by the Cadets allowed the Panthers in extend their lead. Kai Nickerson and Fixemer helped the Cadets battle, but ultimately fell 13-25 to lose 3-0 to High Point. Read more.
