Cadets on the Normandy Staff Ride Watch Sun Rise on the English Channel
Published on March 11, 2022
Cadets on the Normandy Staff Ride rose hours before the sun and made the trek to Pointe du Hoc to watch the sun rise on the English Channel and discuss the actions of the Rangers who scaled those rocks on June 6, 1944. From there, they walked the sands of Omaha Beach and took measure of the magnitude of the American sacrifice at the Colleville Cemetery where they laid a wreath to remember those who gave the last full measure of devotion to defeat tyranny. The annual Anderson Normandy Staff Ride is made possible by a generous endowment from Lee Anderson ’61 and his wife Penny.
