Please welcome the newest members of the Long Gray Line! On June 10, these four cadets graduated from West Point:

Matthew Levi Schirmer
LTC (R) E. Duston Saunders of the 50-Year affiliate Class of 1972 handed each graduate a set of commemorative second lieutenant bars engraved with “72-22.” (Tomas Emilio Lujan was unable to attend the ceremony.) Hats off to the June graduates of the Class of 2022!

CDT Williams ’23 Men’s Rugby Wins Rudy Scholz Award

Cadet Larry Williams ’23 received the Rudy Scholz Award in Seattle, Washington. Williams, playing at the tighthead prop position, has won the award as the best men’s collegiate rugby player in the country.

2LT Gibson ’22 at the NCAA Championships

2LT Jamir Gibson ’22 capped his record-setting career with an 18th place finish in the men’s discus at the 2022 NCAA Championships. Gibson’s final throw was his best, landing 55.14 meters. The distance was good enough for 18th. Gibson earned All-American Honorable Mention honors, two spots away from garnering second team accolades. Gibson rewrote the record book during his career.
