Cadet Capstone Fahnestock Trail Officially Opened

A newly renovated trail opened June 27 at Fahnestock State Park. Hikers and outdoors enthusiasts can thank cadets. The Taconic Regional Commission announced the opening of the Hubbard Perkins Loop Trail. It was a two-year, $1.5 million project that overhauled 9.5 miles of multi-use trails to accommodate its visitors better. As part of the project, the West Post cadets replaced four trail bridges at Fahnestock, applying knowledge they learned during a year-long capstone design civil engineering course. Read more.
