Firstie linebacker Kenneth Brinson was voted onto the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-America Division I Football First Team on Monday. Brinson was selected by the Sports Information Directors from around the country as a First Team Academic All-America honoree and picks up his second consecutive nod after being named to the team in 2017. Earlier this year he was named First-Team Academic All-District for the second-straight season as well. Brinson was also recognized all season for his academic success as he is a finalist for both the Campbell Trophy and the Pop Warner National College Football Award. He is a chemical engineering major with a 3.9 grade point average at West Point.
The 2018 Google Cloud Academic All-America Division I Football Team features 17 members with a 4.0 GPA and 34 members with at least a 3.90 GPA as either undergraduate or graduate student-athletes.
