After leading the Army offense during the team's two victory week, yearling Emmy Barnhorst has been named Patriot League Player of the Week. "We are very proud of Emmy and this is a well deserved honor," Head coach Alma Kovaci Lee said. "She has worked very hard to improve her game and knows how important her role is on the team. She is a student of the game and a tireless worker."
Barnhorst was Army's leader in kills and blocks in both matches, posting 14 kills and six blocks against Lafayette and 10 kills and four blocks against Loyola. Barnhorst was highly efficient on the attack, recording hitting percentages of .500 and .407. She has now recorded double-digit kills in five of her last six games while averaging 3.27 kills per set. The Winfield, Ill., native will look to continue her hot streak as the Black Knights aim to extend their season-high winning streak to five games when they return to the court on Friday to take on American.
