Men’s Tennis Battles Back to Beat NJITThe Army West Point Men’s Tennis team won a hard-fought 4-3 matchup against a very talented NJIT team this past Sunday afternoon in the Lichtenberg Tennis Center.

The Black Knights fell behind early in the No. 1 doubles slot dropping the first match 7-6 but finished strong in the 2nd and 3rd slots with two wins from a David Gorshein and Samuel Haikal duo, and Nathan Jose and Jake Huarte pairing.

Army kept this momentum going throughout singles, winning three out of six matchups. Gorshein, Samuel Eden and Sam Kesti all won their respective matches. Eden made a strong comeback against NJIT's Smith after dropping the first set 4-6. He went on to beat Smith in three sets; 6-3 and 6-2. Gorshein also battled for three sets against Townes in a 3-6, 6-3, 6-2 contest. Kesti closed out the No. 6 slot with a three-set win as well, beating Fekry 6-3, 2-6, 7-5.

The Black Knights came away with a well-earned team win against NJIT. They will compete against St John's University at Lichtenberg Tennis Center next Thursday before beginning Patriot League play on Friday. Read more.
